Last year I photographed Jim and Whitney's wedding, it's hard to believe that Whit has grown up and is starting a family of her own. I grew up down the street from Whitney and have been best friends with her oldest sister, Kayla, since I was 7 (that's a lot of years), so we grew up more like sisters than friends. I remember when her mother was pregnant with her like it was yesterday. Trips to the lake swimming with her sister and mom while she grew in her mama's tummy. I remember the day she came home from the hospital too, she was so cute with her little bow pasted to her head, that's how they did it back then before cute headbands, lol. I'm so happy that no matter the time between visits we pick up right where we left off, spending a day with them reminds me how much they mean to me, and that's a lot.
Forgive the scanned image but I couldn't help but indulging in a little trip down memory lane. Although Whit isn't in the picture, me (in the blue shirt) and my three sisters (Danielle, Julie, and Kelley) and her older sisters (Kayla and little Karla in the pool) are. This was a summer afternoon that my sisters decided to make homemade ice cream at Whitney's house. Whitney was the youngest so I'm sure she was inside with Mom. Good times.
A week ago I had the pleasure of spending a day photographing their new little man. Adorable little "puddle of butter" as his mama calls him. I cannot express in words how perfect he is, he is such a content baby. I fell in love with him and I barely know him, how's that for charm? Whitney is naturally taking to this new role and it looks so good on her, doesn't it? The ease with which she cares for him would not let on to the fact that this is her first babe. He's a lucky boy!
I cannot wait to spend more time snuggling this boy and visiting with his mama. I know I will be photographing this lil' guy for many years to come.
Blessings!
